“In addition, it represents a great opportunity for the company to enter a market that is growing rapidly and where we have not yet participated, which allows us to strengthen our leadership in the world of food,” he added.

This is an unprecedented operation for Nestlé, as the Swiss company is a manufacturer and not an operator of commercial premises. Thus, although it will have interference in the main guidelines of the company, the day to day will be in charge of the same executives who managed to position La Fête Chocolat.

Jorge McKay, founding partner of La Fête Chocolat, pointed out that it is an important step for his company. “We started in 2006 in a plant of 120 square meters and five employees in Quilicura. Since then, our company has grown exponentially and this operation confirms that success,” he said.

The chocolate shop has more than 400 employees and nearly 40 points of sale throughout the country, in addition to its own online sales. The fine chocolate industry in Chile moves about US $ 70 million a year, and La Fête Chocolat is the main operator. However, the firm quickly became the leading manufacturer of fine chocolates in Latin America.
