This Thursday, the Constituent Unit, a pact formed by the Socialist Party, the PPD, the Radical Party, the Christian Democracy, the Progressive Party and Citizens, reached a general agreement that includes the holding of citizen consultations in 85 communes of the country on the 20th of December, to define through this mechanism a single candidacy of the bloc for the municipal elections of April 2021.
The party presidents, Heraldo Muñoz (PPD), Álvaro Elizalde (PS), Carlos Maldonado (PR), Fuad Chahin (DC), Camilo Lagos (PRO) and María Ignacia Gómez (Citizens) arrived at the PS headquarters. the agreement, as well as the general secretaries.
In the opinion of those present, this alliance complies with the principle that citizens have a main role in defining local leadership.
The schedule for carrying out these consultations also establishes the review of the sanitary conditions of each commune during the next week, to comply with the protocols established by the regulations of our country as a result of the pandemic.
