More rating than “My poor little angel”: King Felipe sets TV audience record with 10 million Spaniards in front of the screen

The Christmas message from King Felipe of Spain registered an average audience of 10,760,000 viewers and a 71% screen rating in the total of 29 channels that broadcast the speech. According to Kantar Media data, the extensive greeting of this 2020 has been the most watched since there are records (1992), since only in 1993 they managed to exceed ten million viewers (10,254,000).

However, according to the newspaper ABC of Spain, in several years the percentage of screen share obtained in 2020 has been exceeded.

Castilla León, Aragon and Asturias, the highest rating

The data reflect that the demographic segments where the King’s Christmas message had the greatest following are among women, those over 25 years of age and the regions of Castilla León, Aragón and Asturias, which registered the highest percentages of screen share (86.9 %, 82.9% and 81.6%, respectively). In contrast, Catalonia (46.5%) and the Basque Country (58.6%) were the communities where the message was least seen.
