This weekend the producer Fotorock denounced the vandalization of a mural dedicated to the singer My laferte, which was painted with white paint and a slogan was written alluding to the option “rejection”.
“A new crime against culture. We do not allow ourselves to be surprised by the low tolerance, where neither Art nor anything is saved. We totally reject what happened, trying to politicize an Art action that has nothing to do with politics, it has no no sense “, they assured in their social networks.
The mural, located on Avenida Matta with Santiago Concha, was made in 2019 as part of an urban exhibition called “Open sky icons”.
The vandals, who have not yet been identified, covered the image of the artist with paint and wrote the word “Rejection” on the side, on the wall of the 10th Santiago Fire Company.
“We remain firm, this gives us strength to continue working and creating instances for the community. This is literally a line on the road,” they added from the producer responsible for the work.
The vandalization of the image of Mon Laferte adds to the destruction of a mosaic dedicated to Pedro Lemebel in Nataniel Cox street and another dedicated to dog “Negro Matapacos”. All three attacks were attributed by adherents to “rejection.”

A new crime against culture 💔. This is how the Mon Laferte mural located at Av. Matta 576 dawned today, which we made as Fotorock 1 year ago. Adherents to the Rejection were responsible❗️ We are not surprised by the low tolerance, where neither Art nor anything is saved. We totally reject what happened, trying to politicize an action of Art that has nothing to do with politics, it does not make any sense. We remain firm, this gives us strength to continue working and creating instances for the community. This is literally a streak in the road. * The work was made by the artist Julio “Ros” Pizarro @ ros.ny, in September 2019, within the framework of the Urban Expo #IconosaCieloAbierto. The process lasted 7 days and included the graffiti-mural and stencil technique. The wall record corresponds to an adaptation of the photograph taken by @ignacioorrego, in the concert that #MonLaferte gave at La Cumbre del Rock Chileno in 2017, at the National Stadium. If you reject this act, please like this post, help us share and viralize this news. #Fotorock
