Carabineros GOPE staff found the lifeless body of the 27-year-old kayaker, who had been missing since Tuesday in the Magallanes region.
Patricio Ojeda González, was last seen in the Seno Skyring sector, about 100 kilometers north of Punta Arenas.
According to what was reported by family members, the athlete had been on a journey since December 11, between Bahía Rebolledo and Estero Navarro.
Navy personnel had deployed a broad operation in the sector, first finding the kayak in which the victim and some of his belongings were transported.
The Navy reported that the kayak was found in the sector called “Punta Wapshot”, distant 4 kilometers north of the Fitz Roy Channel.
Then they managed to find the man’s lifeless body. His remains were transferred to the Legal Medical Service to carry out the autopsy instructed by the prosecutor on duty, Oliver Rammsy.
