The Ministry of Health reported 2,616 new cases of Covid-19 during the last 24 hours. 1,828 with symptoms and 687 asymptomatic.

The number of new cases is the lowest reported since January 6, when 2,378 were counted.

The total figure amounts to 736,645, with 22,739 active cases and 694,960 recovered.

34,488 PCR tests were reported, almost half of what the Laboratory Network recorded in recent days. Positivity rose from 6.91% to 8.05% nationwide, reaching 19% in Los Ríos, 16% in Maule, Los Lagos and Magallanes, 15% in La Araucanía and 13% in Tarapacá.

As for the deceased, they were registered 17 persons on the last day. The total figure is 18,576.

The regions with the most cases were the Metropolitan region (537), Los Lagos region (305), La Araucanía region (234), Bío Bío region (225) and Maule region (208).

The Tarapacá region, which yesterday had a significant increase in positive cases, today registered 152.

According to the hospital capacity, there are 200 critical beds available nationwide, registering an occupation of 92.2%.

ICU patients, with a total of 1,484, are the highest number since July 28, 2020, when 1,485 were counted. 1,261 are connected to mechanical ventilation.

Finally, with regard to healthcare residences, there are 4,258 spots in 160 shelters across the country.
