Minsal reports 1,758 new cases of coronavirus and 78 deaths: PCR tests positivity reaches 6.45%

Today the Ministry of Health published a new daily report with the information of the figures of the evolution of Covid-19 in the country.

In this regard, the document indicates that In the last 24 hours, 1,758 new cases of coronavirus were reported in the country, of which 1,275 correspond to symptomatic people, 404 are asymptomatic cases and 79 were not notified.

So, The total number of coronavirus cases in the country amounts to 416,501. Of this number, 15,670 correspond to active cases, that is, people who can spread the virus, and 389,409 correspond to those recovered.

Along these lines, the regions that had the most cases were the RM (526), ​​Biobío (251), Valparaíso (149), Maule (122) and Magallanes (116).

In the case of MRI, it is the third day that it reports about five hundred infections, while the Maule Region registers its highest number in 14 days.

With regard to the deceased, according to information from the Department of Statistics and Health Information of the Minsal, 78 deaths were reported.

Thus, the total number of deaths in the country from Covid-19 is 11,422.

Regarding PCR tests, in the last 24 hours the laboratories reported that 27,242 tests were carried out, reaching a total of 2,508,750 PCR tests analyzed nationwide to date. With this, daily positivity reached 6.45%.

According to data, positivity shows a slight rise despite fewer tests being done: last October 30 it was reported the record number of 34,769 tests, and the positivity for that day was 5.65%, while now we have a positivity over 6% and a number of exams lower than 30 thousand.

To date, according to the daily report, 940 people are hospitalized in intensive care units, of which 686 are on mechanical ventilation and 125 are in critical condition.
