This Tuesday, the Ministry of Health reported that, at the close of yesterday Monday, at 9:00 p.m., in Chile the number of new infected by coronavirus reached 1,373 people.
This figure is the second highest, only surpassed by the 1,427 cases reported from last May 2.
The 1,373 latest new cases reported are divided into 1,317 symptomatic and 56 asymptomatic.
“Most of the cases are registered in the Metropolitan Region, and in particular in the city of Santiago, where we have an increasing trend”said Minister Jaime Mañalich.
Indeed, of these 1,373 total new cases, 1,179 were registered in the Metropolitan Region. That is to say, the capital area represented 85.87% of the total daily cases reported today.
“In the case of other areas, such as Arica, Osorno, there is a tendency to decrease in cases”, added the secretary of state.

These five deaths represent the lowest number in the last 20 days since on April 20 there were two deaths from Covid-19.
The regional breakdown of the five new deceased: three correspond to the Metropolitan Region and the remaining two to that of Valparaíso.
