Minsal Report: 1,607 new cases of Covid-19 in Chile, Los Lagos reaches the highest daily number of infected, and the number of CRP exceeds 40 thousand

This Sunday, the daily report of the Ministry of Health (Minsal) reported that the number of new cases of coronavirus in Chile during the last 24 hours was 1,607. Of these, 1,031 are symptomatic, 548 are asymptomatic and the remaining 28 correspond to unreported cases.

Thus, the total number of people infected in Chile throughout the pandemic, which had its first case on March 3, is 511,864.

During the last day, The Los Lagos Region reached its number of infected every 24 hours longer since it registered its first case in the area, on March 7, when it reported 271 new infections. With this, the regional accumulated is 15,165 affected.

Regarding the deaths, and according to the information provided by the Department of Statistics and Health Information (DEIS), 40 new deaths from Covid-19 were reported (not necessarily passed away yesterday). The total number of deaths due to the pandemic, thus, amounts to 14,247 in the country.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health highlighted in a statement that for the first time, more than 40 thousand PCR tests were carried out. More exactly, 41,152 tests during the last 24 hours.

“The number of exams that we can report today reflects a joint effort between universities, the public network and the private network, which have worked incessantly to face the challenges posed by the coronavirus. We have not lowered our arms and we are going to continue working focused on investigating in a timely manner, actively searching for cases, ”highlighted the Minister of Health, Enrique Paris.

“For this reason, I want to thank the important work of health workers who have made it possible to report, for the first time, more than 41 thousand PCR tests in the last 24 hours,” the authority closed.
