The Minister of Health, Enrique Paris, assured this Saturday that they will review “one by one” the emails of the Minsal and reiterated that they will only deliver to the Metropolitan Central North Prosecutor, Xavier Armendáriz, those related to the investigation for alleged crimes committed during the management in pandemic.
“The Supreme Court has determined that the Minsal, not me as a person, will deliver the emails that are related to the issue to be investigated and not as originally requested that all the information and all the emails from the authorities be delivered corresponding, that’s why we refused in the first instance, “Paris said in the daily report.
He added that the Supreme Court ruled that Minsal has to deliver the emails, “and we always said that, that we were going to cooperate, but the emails related to the complaint,” the latter in reference to the complaints of Senator Alejandro Navarro and the mayor of Recoleta, Daniel Jadue.
“Therefore, we will practically review the emails one by one, as Minister Gloria Chevesich did when she investigated the MOP-Gate, and the emails that are related to the situation determined by the prosecution will be delivered,” concluded Paris.
Complaints against Minsal authorities
The complaints are against President Sebastián Piñera, former Minister Jaime Mañalich and the current undersecretaries Arturo Zúñiga and Paula Daza for alleged omissions of policies to prevent infections and deaths from covid, in addition to concealment of figures.
In its ruling last Thursday, the Supreme Court granted the prosecutor Armendariz access to the emails requested from the Minsal, but left out those related to the purchase of supplies such as mechanical fans and the strategic destinations of the Armed Forces, for national security reasons such as argued the ministry.
