“We are concerned about the increase in cases”, warned the Minister of Health, Enrique Paris, in the middle of the delivery of a new balance on the evolution of the pandemic in the country. Thus, in relation to the balance, the Undersecretary of Healthcare Networks, Alberto Dougnac, reported that of the new cases confirmed in the last day, 1,133 are symptomatic, 575 had no symptoms, and 10 have not yet been reported.
With this, the total number of positives detected since March in the country amounted to 548,941, with 523,792 cases recovered and 9,519 active, the highest number since last October 26.
On the other hand, according to data from the Department of Health Statistics and Information (DEIS), 44 new deaths were reported from the virus, totaling 15,322 deaths nationwide.
Regarding the situation of the health network, there are currently 703 patients hospitalized in intensive care units (ICU), 554 of them with mechanical ventilation and 65 in critical condition.
Finally, Dougnac explained that 39,462 PCR tests were carried out in the last day and, with this, the total of tests reported in the country exceeded 5.2 million.
