The Ministry of Education (Mineduc) reported the suspension of classes at the Puente Alto school where yesterday a young man was electrocuted.

This is Bayron Díaz, an 18-year-old young man who died on the first day of face-to-face classes at the Las Nieves Industrial College, after months of pandemic.

According to the investigation, everything would have happened in the middle of a practical class where Díaz manipulated a three-phase motor, when the student received the electric shock.

Faced with this situation, Mineduc regretted what happened.

The person who spoke on behalf of the organization was the Undersecretary of Education, Jorge Poblete, who indicated that Minister Raúl Figueroa instructed the seremi to classes suspended and thus facilitate the investigation to determine how the tragedy occurred.

“We have instructed all the measures to be able to carry out the investigation” and clarify the facts quickly, he pointed out.

For his part, the Superintendent of Education, Cristián O’Ryan, indicated that supervisors of the organism they attended this Tuesday to the educational campus to carry out the rigorous investigation.

He added that the idea is to determine if there was a violation of educational regulations, if all the security measures were in place and if there were protocols to attend to emergencies.

The case is also investigated by criminal means through the South Prosecutor’s Office.

The mother of the deceased youth he had criticized Minister Figueroa for the return plan promoted by his portfolio, since everything happened on the first day of face-to-face classes.
