The Ministry of Health reported 1,685 new cases and another 64 deaths from coronavirus, in a balance issued this Monday morning through the Government website.

Infections were again led by the Metropolitan region, with 463 (see graph). Further back appeared Valparaíso (191), an area that has been in quarantine for more than three months.

It was the owner of the portfolio, Enrique Paris, who at the beginning of this month had already expressed his concern about the “stagnation” sustained despite the confinement.

Both regions were followed by Bío Bío (189), Maule (133) and Magallanes (113).

Thus, since the beginning of the pandemic at the national level 436,433 people have contracted the virus and 12,013 lost their lives (with confirmation via PCR).
