Metropolitana and Bío Bío lead infections: Minsal reports 1,753 new cases and 45 other deaths | National

1,753 new cases and 45 other deaths from coronavirus reported this Monday by the Ministry of Health, in a balance issued through the Government website.

As the trend has been, the Metropolitan and Bío Bío regions led the infections registered in the last hours, with 482 and 260 respectively. The latter is the fourth highest daily figure in the area, whose capital -Concepción- has been in confinement since last Friday.

Further behind are Valparaíso (206) and Coquimbo (132). In fifth place, meanwhile, Magellan appears (113), a region that reached its peak of infections last Thursday (147).

Thus, at the national level 411,726 people contracted the virus and 11,289 have lost their lives (with positive PCR) since the beginning of the pandemic.

Patients and positivity

According to the count issued from Minsal, 139 patients are in critical health, while 735 are connected to mechanical ventilation.

With 31,914 PCR tests in 24 hours (cut off until 9:00 PM on Sunday), the positivity rate reached 5.49%.
