One meter in height, such as Line 4 and 5 in Santiago, crashed into the barrier at the end of the road in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, but instead of plunging 10 meters to the ground from a pier, it delicately landed on a sculpture of a whale tail.

The driver came out in shock but unharmed and there were no passengers on board. The statue, casually titled “Saved by the tale of a whale”It had not been built with the intention of saving a train.

“Of course it looks quite poetic,” said artist and architect Maarten Struijs, as quoted by the Algemeen Dagblad newspaper. “But it is fortunate that the tail could support the weight of the train,” he added.

The suspended convoy could be seen by passersby in the streets that passed below. Despite calls on social media to leave it permanently attached to the artwork, the Rotterdam Metro and local officials said it would not be safe.
