A medium-magnitude earthquake was registered on Friday night in the Coquimbo region, and it was also seen in other areas of the country such as Valparaíso, Atacama and the Metropolitan region.

The earthquake at 11:11 pm had a magnitude of 5.6 with an epicenter 11 kilometers south of Punitaqui and with a depth of 56 kilometers, according to the National Seismology Center.

According to users and auditors of Radio Bío Bío, the earthquake lasted for about 30 seconds and at the moment, no outages, structural damage or victims have been reported.

In addition, Onemi reported that the SHOA (Hydrographic and Oceanographic Service of the Chilean Navy) ruled out that the earthquake could cause a tsunami in Chilean things.
