“I want to highlight the concurrent vision of the Municipal Council with this mayor and seek a path that allows the channels to develop, based on their experience and professionalism, an alternative Covid mode for version No. 62 of the Viña Festival,” said the mayor in her twitter account.
In the same post, Reginato He shared a video in which he added: “What was repeated the most in the session by the councilors was that these are times of adaptation and collaboration, and for this we are all available.”
Let us remember that on Monday the directors of Channel 13 and TVN issued a joint statement insisting that the 2021 Viña del Mar Festival is suspended.
In the letter they affirmed that on Friday they sent a letter to Mayor Reginato where they explained the reasons why it is not possible to hold the mega event.
In this context, the councilor Sandro Puebla, a member of the festival commission, admitted that the opinion of the health authorities is key to understanding that the event cannot take place under normal conditions.
However, he said he hopes that the channels will propose alternatives and not only advocate for the suspension, considering the economic damage that local businesses will suffer from not holding the contest.
