Mayor of Pirque accuses “assembly” and “boycott” for total absence at the school reopened this Thursday

Yesterday all the media were stationed in the Pirque schools, because they would be the first to receive the students, in the face-to-face return to the classrooms due to the coronavirus pandemic.

However, only 20 students made it to colleges and even at the Liceo El Llano, no one came. This caused criticism to the Minister of Education Raúl Figueroa, who defended the reopening.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Pirque, Cristián Balmaceda (RN), accused that what happened at the Liceo El Llano was the product of a “boycott and a setup.”

“I think that mistakes were made here. Instead of talking only with the parents of the courses that were going to be invited, they should have talked to the Parent and Guardian Center of the school, in general. The other mistake is, yes they spoke with the teachers and they were going to work, perhaps the board of union 1 should have also been invited, “said the communal authority.

“What happened at the El Llano high school was a montage of a group of teachers who did not want to enter or return to classes,” he said, “they called the press and, what is more painful, they communicated with the children so that they would not go that day”

“If in El Llano the children don’t want to go because the teachers don’t want to go, they don’t just go. We don’t care,” he said.
