An announcement by the mayor of Las Condes blew up social networks with different reactions. And it is that Joaquín Lavín warned through his Twitter that “we are installing GPS to all residents who have Cherokee and Dodge vehicles. As Lavín explains in a video where he details the benefits of the anti-theft system, the municipality has already installed GPS devices in 5,800 neighboring vehicles, and the effect of the measure was noticed with the recovery of 24 vehicles that returned to their owners thanks to have that device.

By the way, this is not just any car. Mayor Joaquín Lavín specifies that he is focused on two very specific models of the Jeep and Dodge brands, which are the kind that thieves or criminals who commit door smashing are usually looking for.
Finally, the commune authority invites residents of Las Condes to have those cars to “approach the Municipality to install the button.”
