The mayor of Antofagasta, Edgar Blanco, called the inhabitants of the communes of Mussels and Antofagasta to remain calm and not turn to commerce or fuel stations, since there are still 48 hours before the quarantine.
“It is not necessary that they are going to load fuel now because it will be open for the next few days. We will have information that explains what we can and cannot do”, he pointed White along with indicating that pharmacies, supermarkets, medical consultations and transportation, among other essential services, will operate during confinement.
“This quarantine is not an extended curfew, it is much stricter, it does not serve the pass during the day, only temporary permission serves. The passes are for curfew hours from 22:00 to 5:00. hours”he explained.
He emphasized that “Today it is the responsibility of people to comply with this quarantine, we will be strict with the health authority to make this effective”.
“The idea is to reduce the number of infections and especially in the two places that concern us such as Antofagasta and Mejillones”, added the mayor, who warned that those who do not comply with the quarantine can be fined up to $ 50 million.
