It is a musical project by Maria Jose Quintallina, the famous Chilean singer who started her career in the program “Red fame against fame” and that with the passage of time it became an important exponent of music at the national level, but today announced a collaboration with nothing more and nothing less than the group Quilapayún.
And it is that the folk music group called her to interpret the album “Cantanta Santa María de Iquique”, one of the most important works in the history of the band and that for the first time it will include female voices, such as that of Javiera Parra, Ema Pinto, Camila Moreno, among others, while the stories will be interpreted by the actor Alfredo Castro.
But nevertheless, Maria Jose Quintanilla made an important statement referring to the invitation that the musical group made her, because it made her remember her beginnings in music with her late father and a particular gift that he gave her when she was little.
The publication of María José Quintanilla
“No matter how difficult it may be, things can always happen, even if the path puts all the existing difficulties on you and you believe it will never happen. In 2004 my father gave me the album Cantata Santa María de Iquique because he wanted me to know the history of what had happened in that school with the nitrate workers, the struggle they gave, how they treated them and the unfortunate experiences they had what to happen “, he expressed through his Instagram.
And I add: “From that year until 2007 every day, on my way to school and back, he did the stories and I sang. In those moments, deep and beautiful conversations arose, about the struggle, injustice and the value of the family, among many others “, continues in the text.
Now, María José Quintanilla also confessed that this moment was very special, since she felt that her father’s energy came together in this collaboration.
“When I received the call to participate in this work, my soul felt that my old man from somewhere was giving me a gift. Today, I take this challenge with all the responsibility and love in the world, remembering that no matter how many years pass, how many things do not work for us, let us continue to trust our dreams, create and be consistent with ourselves “wrote Cote.
Finally, the singer thanked the opportunity and the invitation of Quilapayún, but not only that, but he delivered an emotional message to his followers, encouraging them to follow their dreams.
