Asked about the position of the prosecutor’s office when pointing out that it implemented a sui generis system for data collection, in the investigation carried out after the complaint made by Mayor Daniel Jadue against him, the undersecretaries Paula Daza and Arturo Zúñiga as well as against President Sebastián Piñera, the former head of the Ministry of Health pointed out that “the sui generis and unusual thing about what the prosecution maintains is that in Chile or in the world there must have been a perfect way to fight this pandemic, when that is very far from reality”.

“We found a system, as clearly documented by the Comptroller’s Office, that had tremendous imperfections, and the imperfections were centered on the fact that the Epivigila system is completely dependent on the information entered by those who must make the mandatory notification of infectious diseases (ENO), and we came to the realization that this was not happening properly, that not all cases were being recorded; So we had a difference in cases between what was reported in Epivigila and the suspects in the clinical centers.
