A businessman who opposed the social isolation measures imposed in the United States died after testing positive for Covid-19.
This is John W. McDaniel, an Ohio citizen who through his social networks had written several messages criticizing the confinement decreed to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
“Does anyone have the guts to say that all this of the Covid-19 is an invention of the politicians? It’s for a friend. Show me I’m wrong, ”is one of the posts that the man had shared on his Facebook.
Soon after, he used the same platform to criticize the Ohio governor, Mike DeWine, who ordered the closure of food outlets, shops and bars, indicating that, in his opinion, those who choose to continue with their normal lives should not be affected.
However, what is striking is that at the time of writing these comments he had already been diagnosed with the virus. In fact, he was interned in the Riverside Methodist Hospital, where his then his condition worsened.
According to international media such as NBC News and NY Daily News, McDaniel passed away on April 15, after having tested positive for Covid-19 late March. Since then, his family has chosen to keep the news of his death in reserve for a time, until this week a message was revealed in his honor.
It should be noted that the businessman’s Facebook account is not available. According to NBC News, it could have been removed. For its part, the McDaniel family did not respond to requests made by the same medium.
However, the screenshots of the messages caught the attention even of the English station Piers Morgan, which used it as an example to raise awareness about the importance of containment measures.
