When the jamaican Max Higgins arrived in Argentina in 2007, he presented himself as a successful businessman. The move was worth making him known, go on television, organize events and, even, hire the famous ex-footballer Diego Armando Maradona. But it was all a great farce that, after coming to light, left the man on the street.
Information collected by the Infobae portal indicates that the man also promised a park similar to Disney’s in the trans-Andean country and even made three versions of the reality show World Soccer Idol, for which he hired the soccer star and his colleague, Sergio Goicochea.
But the reality was very different. Over time he left knowing that the man was a con man who also had various mental problems. In current times, after being discovered, he often prowls the local streets begging for money, with no more property than a briefcase where he keeps what he receives.
But … how did he get recognized? It is estimated that the man raised his starting capital using the ancient scam method known as Ponzi scheme.
This technique, which is a type of pyramid scam created at the beginning of the 20th century, consists of generating a network of supposed investors, and gradually handing out the money obtained from those who have just entered.
“If I get my money back, I can hire Maradona again, but first I need Maradona himself to help me. Diego can get me off the street”, He said to the media, while he was sitting in a Buenos Aires portal.
His wife Sandra Zapata, whom he married in 2006, was the one who unmasked him after suffering domestic violence. The woman showed folders that revealed problems with the law in United States and England by fabulation and checks without fund for collection.
Higgins assures that they seized him two billion dollars, with which, he affirms, he would save the Argentine economy. “The Argentine Congress cannot overcome it. The money is garnished. They must release him to stay with Disney“, He commented in an interview with youtuber Magnus Mefisto.

“I hope this reaches the Argentines who live in the United States and they will say, and even Donald Trump will say, that the key to rescuing the economy is Max Higgins, I have the solution. If my money is released, the peso will float and come back one by one. I can save the country, “he added in the video.
However, about the alleged money there is no news. On the street, he often engages in conversations while alone. There is also no public psychiatric diagnosis. It is only known with certainty that, from rubbing shoulders with the most famous in Argentina, he went to sleep on cold tiles.
