The Sex Crimes Brigade of the Chillán Investigations Police detained a man accused of the crime of rape on Monday, who would have committed against a 22-year-old woman early Saturday morning in the capital of the Ñuble region.
The head (s) of Brisex Chillán, commissioner Igor Ibáñez, explained that the victim told them that “he suffered a sexual assault in the context of a celebration between young colleagues from a university degree, in which there would have been excessive consumption of alcohol and illegal drugs, leaving the victim in a state of drunkenness, what the defendant would have taken advantage of to commit the crime ”.
The PDI official added that “this whole situation was warned by one of the party participants, who obtained an audiovisual record of the moment the violation occurred, a record that later he exhibits the victim, who until then was unaware of what had happened to him ”.
Due to this situation, the Prosecutor’s Office requested a series of medical examinations and investigative procedures from the PDI.
After noon this Sunday, the defendant’s detention control was carried out, an instance in which the procedure adopted by the PDI was declared legal. The Prosecutor’s Office requested preventive detention; However, the judge declared the total house arrest, for which he appealed in court, and according to the Criminal Procedure Code, it will be the Chillán Court of Appeals who decides on Monday the precautionary measure to be imposed.
