Man arrested for death of young man found in vacant place in Valdivia | National

The Prosecutor’s Office in Los Ríos confirmed the arrest of a 58 year old man as the alleged perpetrator of the homicide of a 25-year-old girl found in a vacant place in Valdivia.

The arrest was made by personnel from the PDI Homicide Brigade, who carry out the investigation of the crime.

The victim was identified as Elizabeth Francesca Paz González Lorca and preliminarily, he would have died from suffocation.

This Monday the detainee will go to detention control where it will be eventually formalized for the crime of robbery with homicide, according to the prosecutor Carlos Bahamondes.

Bahamondes stated that the arrest of the only suspect of the crime was carried out after the registration of security cameras located in the sector in addition to the testimony of witnesses.

Meanwhile, it also indicated that “this person is linked mainly to the fact that he was found wearing the same clothes as the subject who was found at the scene” on the day of the victim’s death.

The event occurred in a field of abundant scrub, where people would gather to consume alcohol or other substances, as indicated by sources of the investigation, a place located in front of the corner of Lynch and Simpson streets.

With the support of the Crime Laboratory, detectives from the PDI Homicide Squad try to clarify what happened to the young woman.
