In Valdivia, a man (28) was arrested, accused of being the main suspect in the death of a woman (21) that occurred in La Pintana.
The fact -which is being investigated by the Prosecutor’s Office as femicide- was revealed this morning, when the victim’s body was found inside his home in the capital commune.
According to preliminary records, the assailant attacked the woman with scissors, and then suffocated her to death.
The detainee, who would have confessed the crime to a relative, had a sentimental relationship with the victim, with whom he shared during the night with a friend, the PDI reported.

The suspect – in a possible attempt to flee from the police – traveled to the Los Ríos region. He would have been in a rural sector of Mariquina, before being finally arrested.
It is expected to be formalized this Sunday first thing in the morning, while the Legal Medical Service (SML) will be in charge of confirming the cause of death.
The investigation of the incident is in charge of the Metropolitan Homicide Brigade of the civil police.
