Six of those affected are admitted to Hospital El Carmen, one at Hospital del Professor and seven at Red Salud Santiago.
The poisoning occurred in a food establishment in Lo Errazuriz Avenue.
During the day, the seremi Paula Labra will deliver recommendations regarding the increase in outbreaks of ETA due to high temperatures.
Salmonella is a bacterium that can be transmitted from animals to humans and is widely distributed in the animal kingdom, with birds and their derivatives being the most common sources of infection.
It usually presents as outbreaks of foodborne illness (FAD). In most cases it presents as self-limited gastroenteritis. However, in some cases, the invasion of the microorganism can cause septicemia and serious health problems for people.
