English Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) got this Sunday his 90th victory in the Formula 1, approaching one of the record Michael Schumacher (91 years old), after winning the Grand Prix of Tuscany.

Second of the race was the other Mercedes, the Finn Valtteri Bottas, while the Thai finished third Alexander Albon (Red Bull).

The six-time world champion and defending champion was the winner after a chaotic new career, marked by numerous accidents and dropouts, on an unpublished track for this discipline such as Mugello (Italy).

There were two career interruptions for those incidents. Among the drivers who dropped out were the Dutch Max Verstappen (Red Bull), third in the World Championship, and the French Pierre Gasly (Alpha Tauri), a surprise winner in the previous race at Monza, just a week ago.

For Hamilton it is his sixth victory in the 2020 season, increasing his lead as the overall leader over second, Bottas, to 52.

The Ferraris, celebrating their 1,000th Formula 1 Grand Prix this weekend, were among the twelve cars that made it to the finish line at Mugello. Charles Leclerc was eighth and Sebastian Vettel tenth.

Australian Daniel Ricciardo managed to place his Renault in fourth position and Mexican Sergio Pérez, who this week confirmed his departure from Racing Point at the end of the current season, was fifth.
