UK media are closely following the case of a lawyer named Faiz Siddiqui (41 years old), who has not found a job for 10 years and therefore sued his parents to pay his expenses for life.

According to the Daily Mail, Siddiqui graduated from the prestigious University of Oxford, which allowed him to obtain jobs in renowned firms in London. However in 2011 his career came to a halt and came to a standstill, as he never again found a stable job.

That was why, in 2020, the lawyer decided to sue his parents, Rakshanda (69) and Javed (71), who currently live in Dubai and had previously given him their apartment located in the center of the English capital, which is valued at 1.4 million dollars, about 1016,680,000 Chilean pesos.

However, Siddiqui went one step further and in that lawsuit demanded that his parents should “Keep your cats from feeding, clothing, and allowances for life.”

Among his arguments, the professional stated that he was a “vulnerable adult, who suffered serious health problems in childhood and not receiving such payment would constitute a violation of their human rights ”.

The lawsuit was heard in late 2020 in London Family Court, but the judge in charge rejected the plaintiff’s request. However, the process is now in the Court of Appeals, whose decision could deliver a precedent in that country.

For his part, the lawyer for Siddiqui’s parents, Justin Warshaw, stated that the professional has little chance of winning that appeal.

“These elderly parents have their opinion about what it is like to support a ‘difficult, demanding and stubborn” child, exposed.

It should be noted that, in 2018, the lawyer had sued his own university, Oxford, accusing it of not having “provided adequate education, which prevented him from obtaining good grades and entering universities in the United States.”

However, that lawsuit was a resounding failure for Faiz Siddiqui, as the court rejected his allegations.
