Labor Day: Carabineros reports 57 detainees in demonstrations and one of them would be infected with Covid-19

In different parts of the country have been registered incidents related to public order, in the midst of the commemoration of Labor Day on May 1.

Such are the cases of Plaza Baquedano, in Santiago, where groups of protesters arrived at the scene and were repressed by personnel from the Carabineros Special Forces.

The arrest of communications personnel, such as journalists and cameramen, including a National Television team, was also reported.

From the police institution they reported that at the moment there are 57 people arrested at the scene, among whom there would be a person infected with Covid-19 who had to comply with mandatory quarantine until May 9

Another point where incidents occurred in the capital was near La Moneda, where detainees were also registered. As indicated by the Central Unitaria de Trabajadores (CUT), at that point the institution’s secretary general, Nolberto Díaz, was arrested, among other union leaders.

In addition, incidents were reported in Valparaíso, where detainees have also been reported by police officials.
