The Chilean basketball team fell to Argentina during the night of this Friday at the Templo del Rock gym, of the Obras Basket club, in Buenos Aires.
In a tight match, the nationals lost by 67 to 61, in the match corresponding to the third date of the qualifiers for the AmeriCup (America’s Cup) 2022.
The progression of the scorekeeper was tight (20-16, 31-34, 47-47 and 67-61), to the point that in the third quarter the game was absolutely tied, although at the end the trans-Andean players took the advantage with a team composed only of local players.
The difference materialized in the final minute, when a triple by Lionel Schattmann returned the difference in favor of the Argentines 22 seconds after closing.
However, in the Chilean quintet, led by Argentine DT Cristian Santander, pivot wing Manuel Suárez stood out, with 21 points and 9 rebounds.
On the next date, this Saturday Chile will play against Venezuela (16:10) and the trans-Andean players will face Colombia (22:10).
