Former deputy Jorge Tarud launched his presidential candidacy, making known his intentions to compete in the PPD primaries.
The former parliamentarian indicated through a video in his twitter account that after the plebiscite, “the people want to participate in the decisions, all the political parties have to take note of that.”
“Given the serious situation that our country has today, pandemic, unemployment, lack of opportunities, I am willing to gamble for Chile, as I have always done during my career,” he said.
In that sense, he remarked that “therefore I am going to compete in open primaries for the candidacy for the presidency in my party.”
“Join me in this great task of raising up Chile, for better pensions, better jobs and with a new constitution that represents us all,” Tarud concluded.
