Follow the TV series for the continuity of Lionel messi in Barcelona, after the League issued a statement that establishes the existence of a clause in the Argentine’s contract with the Barça team that orders the payment of a significant sum of money if the midfielder leaves Barça.
The midfielder’s lawyers continue to insist that this does not correspond and point to a negotiated exit, something that Jordi Mestre, former vice president of the culé club, rules out.
“I do not know that Messi can be released without paying the clause. It does not make sense to sign a contract with a player and leave when he wants to. The contracts must be fulfilled and signed by both parties”, assured in conversation with RAC1.
The former manager points directly to Messi’s behavior and the way in which he communicated his wishes to leave.
“I think that if it had been spoken in person, an agreement would have been reached. I would like there to be a pact, this situation does not benefit anyone, but it is too late to agree,” he said.
Adding that “if he wants to leave, he must pay. The club is very clear about it. With Neymar, PSG paid the clause.”
