Jadue in Pauta Libre: “There has been terrorism in Wallmapu for many years, and also from the State”

This day the mayor of Recoleta, Daniel Jadue (PC), referred to the cases of violence that are registered in La Araucanía. In an interview with Pauta Libre de la Red, the mayor acknowledged that there are terrorist acts in the territory, but that in certain cases, these come from the State.

Ensuring that Chile’s antiterrorist law is absolutely deficient, Jadue said: “What we have is terrorism. There are terrorist actions in Wallmapu because of their positions that yes, many ago, and also from the State.”

Jadue asserted that in the Wallmapu there are sectors that have been radicalized, but that if it were a government, he would try to bring them to the table and dialogue.

In the same vein, he agreed with the panelists that there are innocent victims in the territory, such as the 13-year-old minor who was shot in Collipulli. He also added that it seemed “irresponsible” that the Government immediately linked these events with the burning of some cabins in the sector.

He asserted that what has failed in the area is not only the lack of politics, but has also been the cause of the dominance exercised by groups of businessmen, “who have been controlling an important sector of politics for a long time.”

“I would have loved that everyone who allowed themselves to be controlled had ended up in jail and did not allow themselves to be controlled in their positions as if nothing had happened,” said Jadue.
