ISP reports recall of baby wipes due to the presence of bacteria

The Institute of Public Health of Chile (ISP) announced today the recall of 92,943 units of wet wipes corresponding to Huggies Effective Cleaning Wet Wipes, Huggies One & Done Complete Cleaning Wet Wipes, and Huggies Pure and Natural Wet Wipes.

As indicated, the owner of the products, Kimberly-ClarK Chile SA reported that the voluntary withdrawal of these products is due to results obtained by the manufacturer in Colombia: After a routine re-analysis, the presence of a bacteria called Pluralibacter gergoviae, in 30 series of these products.

According to the ISP, this microorganism “Devoid of danger for healthy people”, but nevertheless could pose a risk to people with weakened immune systems.
