The Internal Revenue Service reported on a covid-19 outbreak affecting six workers.

As reported by the establishment, through a statement, it focuses on “One of its Subdirectorates, located in the dependencies of the National Directorate”.

In that sense, it was pointed out that all those infected are “In strict monitoring, according to the protocol defined by the institution”.

Complaint from officials

For its part, from the National Association of Internal Tax Officials of Chile (Aneiich), they indicated that the affected subdirectorate corresponds to that of Informatics, accusing lack of information when communicating the situation already indicated.

In this regard, they pointed out that the past Thursday, December 17 a group of officials from “the Subdirectorate of Informatics were alerted by their deputy director about the suspicion of contagion covid-19 of an official, in a sector near their offices”, for which they were told that “a sanitization of the area and that they were authorized to retire to their homes’ if it seemed to them “”.

After that, they asserted that due to the lack of official information they began to “contact colleagues to obtain greater certainty of what happened, and when they notified their headquarters of the early retirement to their homes, they did not know the information, so they could not ratify what was stated verbally by the Deputy Director ”.

“Despite the various efforts made by officials and regional leaders, just on Tuesday, December 22, our regional directive Aneiich DN-DGC managed to get a formal meeting for the next morning, when there were already the certainty of 3 infections and 10 suspicious officials ”, they emphasized from the Aneiich.

Along the same lines, they added that “Despite the alarming figures, the authorities of the Sub-Directorate persisted in minimizing the situation, noting that they would continue to evaluate its evolution, thus ruling out the preventive closure of the Sub-Directorate, formally requested by our association on Friday the 18th. ”

Finally, they indicated that on December 25 at 5:00 p.m., the Deputy Director of Informatics, Erick Marinkovic, informed -by means of an email- that “all the informatics officials, that, upon confirmation of a fifth contagion in the subdirectorate, “(…) together with the Directorate it has been decided extend the preventive quarantine for all people who work in person and had a shift next week.
