On the morning of this Friday, the Ministry of Health (Minsal) reported that in the last 24 hours they were confirmed 5,325 new infections of covid-19.
That figure represents the number highest since June 21, when 5,607 diagnoses were reported.
This significantly increased the number of patients classified as assets: of the 25,051 of yesterday Thursday, today these correspond to 27,317.
This number is what highest since July 6, when 27,804 contagious patients were discussed.
The Minister of Health, Enrique Paris, insisted on the call to maintain self-care measures and to respect quarantines due to the increase in cases.
“While the vaccination process continues to advance normally and according to plan, citizens should not forget self-care measures: always wear a mask, wash hands with soap and water, maintain physical distance, avoid crowds, as they are for now the most effective measures ”, he stated.
Dead, ICU and positivity
Regarding the number of deaths, the Government added 90 deaths related to covid-19 to the official registry.
With that, 20,928 people have lost their lives in Chile since the arrival of the new coronavirus.
Meanwhile, ICU patients noted a new rise for the fifth consecutive day and reached 1,755, 1,513 of them connected to mechanical ventilation.
On the other hand, the positivity of the day was 8.61% in line with the 60,720 reported PCR tests.
