For 19 years, Ipsos and INC Consultores have carried out the Corporate Reputation Study, which in 2020 was contextualized in a scenario where citizens required the effort of companies to adapt to the new needs imposed by confinement and the health crisis.

Thus, compared to 2019, the sector of pharmacies and clinics and medical centers are the ones with the highest increase by better capitalizing on this environment.

The survey was applied to 5,145 people nationwide between September 3 and October 5.

Google, column, Samsung came out as the three companies with the best reputation in Chile, followed by Doctor Simi, Sony and Universidad de Chile.

Technology and the internet, cars, and food are the business sectors with the best reputation in Chile, out of the total of 25 measured by the ERC 2020.

While those worst valued were miners, Isapres and AFP.

The consultants in charge of the study detailed that sociodemographically reputation in Chile has a better value as age increases, with an increase that occurs from those over 45 years of age and that increases significantly from 61 years onwards.

Reputation drops at the low socioeconomic level.

Assessment of contribution in pandemic

Regarding the contributions of companies to face the pandemic, a 28% of citizens believe that companies have done something positive, 44% think that they have done only the minimum expected, 17% evaluate them with any type of contribution and 11% have no knowledge

Supermarkets is the industry that stands out the most for its contribution to the health crisis with 32%, followed by food and beverages (16%), banks (15%), telecommunications (9%) and pharmacies (5%).

If this is opened by companies, Líder is the company with the highest valuation by Chileans, followed by BancoEstado, Jumbo, Banco de Chile, and Unimarc.
