The Chillán Court of Appeals extended until Friday the arrest of a carabinero who caused the death of a 25-year-old man, when shooting in the frame of a police procedure for family violence carried out in the southern sector of the capital of Ñuble.

It’s about a 32 year old civil servant, from the Huambalí de Chillán Carabineros Sub-police Station, who is investigated after having used his service weapon, seriously injuring a subject who finally lost his life early Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred at the intersection of the streets Alonso de Ercilla to Ángel Oyarzún, where the accused shot the victim eight times, impacting two on the legs, one on the thorax and one on the hip, which finally caused his death when he received emergency care at the Hospital de Chillán.

The prosecutor Paulina Valdebenito explained that “there are several important proceedings for the investigation that have not yet been evacuated; within them the autopsy report and the testimony of eyewitnesses, which will provide more information to explain the dynamics of the occurrence of the events in the formalization of Friday. “

Precisely, due to the existence of these pending proceedings, the Justice John Landeros, of the Chillán Guarantee Court, agreed to the request of the Public Ministry to extend the detention of the uniformed man by two days, which is serving in dependencies of the Second Police Station of Chillán.
