This Saturday the defendant had to appear in court Guillermo Rivas Contreras, who was detained by Carabineros after being accused of the crime of fire and injury.
The subject was captured during the day on Friday after trying to burn a shed, in an event that affected one hundred crab traps, in an enclosure located at kilometer 8.5 of Route 9 South.
The reason, as explained during the hearing by the Public Ministry, would have been a disagreement with his boss on the economic side.
“Guillermo Rivas Contreras is informed that an investigation is being carried out against him for the events that occurred on December 4, when the accused was inside a warehouse in the Magellan Fishing Society, located at kilometer 8.5 south and, as a result of a series of problems with his employer, set fire to some objects in the place. As a result of the fire, 100 crab traps that were in the place were burned, ”said the prosecutor, Manuel Soto.
“When the victim arrives, the defendant assaults him with a punch to the chest and he falls to the ground, pointing out the defendant “I’m going to burn all this weá, because my boss owes me money” (sic). Firefighters arrived at the scene and controlled the fire preventing it from spreading. The damages were valued at 3 million pesos and the victim ended up with a minor injury. The facts constitute the crime of fire and less serious injuries ”, concluded the persecutor.
After exposing the antecedents, the prosecutor requested that the accused remain with the precautionary measure of arraigo and the prohibition of approaching the victim and the fishing grounds, which was accepted by the Court, remaining with said precautionary measures.
