Almost four years have passed since the fatal traffic accident of Ignacio Lastra and his partner at the time, Julia Fernandez, in which he ended up with 90% of his body burned and several serious injuries that left him life-threatening. Now, the former reality boy returned to his work as a model and claimed that he broke his “own paradigms.”

The incident occurred during the last night of August 2017, when he was driving his Mini Cooper through New Providence and they ran into the other car on the corner with Antonio Varas, having to be helped by passersby.

After being hospitalized for a long period at the Indisa clinic, in addition to his recovery efforts, Lastra confirmed to Las Últimas Noticias that he returned to his old career thanks to a campaign from the Corona store.

“I never thought of modeling. For me that stage was closed (because) I did not meet the requirements, “he said about the scars that remained on his body.

However, a call made him change his mind. “They (the store) told me where they are aiming: what is inclusion and breaking with the paradigms of beauty” that, he said, “are changing.” So, then, he accepted the proposal.

“Why would I have to live in hiding without being able to work on what I know how to do? I don’t have to hide for being burned or not being able to work because of that (…) it serves as an inspiration for people who believe that they cannot do many things, ”he said in conversation with the outlet.

After participating in the photographic session, Lastra commented that “I have super assumed what happened to me and how I was. With this I broke my own paradigms ”.

“I thought that a model had to have certain qualities and right now I realize that I do not comply with that, but I feel like a model because I project something else, not just physical (…) that what I am doing serves something, that leaves something “, Hill.

Let us remember that in May 2018, the former participant of Double temptation (Mega) decided to talk about his accident and recovery on the now-defunct show Vertigo (Channel 13).

“This is my new Chile face, so they get used to it. If you don’t like it, change the channel ”, argued in that interview.

In it, he also recalled that after his serious injuries “the doctors said that one arm and two fingers of the other hand should be cut off and here I am, whole and recovering.”
