In the assembly held this Monday, the Footballers Union (Sifup) decided to go on strike in support of the Second Division after the determination of the Council of Presidents of the ANFP to give him only half a quota of promotion to the category.
In a unanimous vote, the Extraordinary Assembly of Footballers decided not to start the 2021 tournaments, in all its divisions, until the Council of Presidents reverses the equivocal decision to grant half a promotion quota to the Second, as well as other aspects of the bases. .

Through a message on their social networks, Sifup reported that “in a unanimous vote” they decided not to start the 2021 tournaments in all their divisions.
Nevertheless, International tournaments are excluded, so that Universidad de Chile and Unión Española will be able to dispute their commitments, with San Lorenzo and Independiente del Valle, in Copa Libertadores this week.
The assembly carried out by Sifup unanimously voted the paralysis of professional soccer players, including the super cup, and participation of Chilean teams in international tournaments is excluded.

The strike will continue “until the Council of Presidents reverses the equivocal decision to grant a half quota for promotion to the Second, as well as other aspects of the bases.”
In the brief statement, the Sifup did not specify which are the points of the bases of the championships that they seek to modify.
In this scenario, too the first official game of the season was in doubt. As we learned in Al Aire Libre, Colo Colo warned that they will not play the Super Cup against Catholic University, on Sunday March 21, unless this situation is resolved.
