Alonso Escobar Lainez (23), accused as the rapist of at least 9 women he contacted through social networks, in Ñuñoa, Metropolitan region was in preventive prison.
The man – who was arrested this Friday – went on to his respective formalization, whose hearing lasted for several hours until late Saturday night.
On the occasion, he was charged with the rape of eight adults and a minor, 15 years old.
As detailed by the prosecutor Mitzy Henríquez, the defendant contacted the victims through Tinder and Instagram, where he expressed “love or friendship intentions” towards the women, whom he took to his home.
Electroshock and drug dealer
Once inside the building – the persecutor specified – the subject proceeded to rape them, but not before hitting them on the face or the rest of the body.
According to the Public Ministry, the defendant also used a firearm and even an electroshock to threaten those affected. He also posed as a well-known drug trafficker in the capital, in order to instill fear in them, Henríquez explained.
Based on this background, the Prosecutor’s Office requested the preventive detention of Escobar Lainez, which was accepted by the courts.
A period of 30 days was granted for the investigation, which may be renewed in the event that new complaints or antecedents are added.
