The Arica Prosecutor’s Office and the PDI are investigating the homicide of a 21-year-old young man, registered in the Los Volcanes population sector. The victim died of a gunshot wound on public roads, after being approached by unknown persons who were mobilizing in a vehicle.
Prosecutor Claudia Toledo instructed various procedures and expertise to personnel of the Homicide Brigade and the PDI Criminalistics Laboratory, in order to collect the greatest amount of information and elements that allow the perpetrators to be identified.
According to the background of the investigation, the incident occurred in the afternoon of Sunday, when the victim arrived aboard a vehicle to a home located in the Cotacotani Volcano passage, in the company of his partner.

When he got off the mobile he was called by unknown persons who were mobilizing in another vehicle and as he approached one of the occupants shot him, receiving a ballistic impact in the thoracic area. After that, the defendants fled the scene, while the victim died a few minutes later due to the severity of the injury.
“Multiple and intense investigative proceedings are being developed, with analysis of security cameras located by the sector and registration of witnesses. All of this aimed at identifying and arresting the perpetrators of the incident, ”said the prosecutor Claudia Toledo.
