The PPD helmsman and now his party’s presidential candidate, Heraldo Muñoz, He referred to what he expects from his eventual government, also referring to two of his possible adversaries: Francisco Vidal and Daniel Jadue.

In an interview with El Mercurio, the former foreign minister hopes to have “a protective state, build a welfare state, and I think I can contribute to this enormous challenge”, if he reaches La Moneda.

Muñoz stressed that this task in his possible administration will be a collective challenge rather than a personal one, since he does not “seek easy applause.”

“My path has been different, I have never forgotten where I come from and I have been the son of rigor. Nothing has been easy for me and I would not then want my exceptional meritocracy story to be a unique story, “he added.

He was also consulted about two of his possible opponents in the presidential candidacy, he also PPD Francisco Vidal and the Mayor of Recoleta, Daniel Jadue (PC).

The former Secretary of State expects a “fraternal” competition with Vidal, stressing that his media exposure in recent times has positioned him to aspire to the presidential seat.

Regarding Jadue, he maintained that he does not agree with him that “whoever wins primary school imposes the program, I am in favor of agreeing on a program, that we offer people what the future perspective is and if we agree, we go to the competition ”.

Finally, he recognized the work of the communal chief in Recoleta, assuring that he has done very well, but clarified that “now it is a competition for the Presidency of the Republic, they are two different things.”
