Moments of terror were experienced in an Argentine town called Morón, after a policeman should shoot and kill a pitbull dog who, last Sunday afternoon, ran away from home and attacked eight people. Some of them were seriously injured.
According to the Argentine newspaper Clarín, the dog took advantage of an oversight by its owner and left the residence, pouncing on all the people who were walking down the street at that time.
Witnesses indicated that the animal had an unbridled and violent act, so that people could not stop it and “did everything possible to defend themselves from the attacks.”
The dog’s name was Jason and it caused severe injuries to some passersby, some of them even had to be hospitalized and operated.
A man named Felipe Martínez (57), was left with injuries to his legs and right hand. “He was a murderer, he wanted to eat us. I kicked him and covered myself with the bag he had so he let me go. That dog went out to kill people, he went out to eat, “he said.
Another person who was injured was a woman named Liliana Paskut (50), who had to undergo emergency surgery.
“He took out a piece of her thigh, attacked her twice and she cried so much that I felt sorry for her. They had to operate on her and she is admitted to the hospital ”, indicated his daughter Yanet Martínez.
For her part, another neighbor in the sector sustained the aforementioned media that was left with 100 stitches in one of her arms, to which are added the damage to one of her tendons.
According to the TN medium, the dog had a history of extreme aggressiveness, since in 2018 it had attacked a group of children who were on the street.
Because of this the neighbors had gotten an order to euthanize him, but his owner, a guy named Marcelo Rios, ex-councilman and communal official, had stopped this situation.
On this occasion, fortunately, there was a police officer in the vicinity of where the events were taking place.
The statement indicated that the dog also wanted to attack the authority, but when he noticed the risk, he struck his service weapon on two occasions, causing the death of the animal.
“The policeman did not want to shoot him, he shot him twice because we asked him to and the dog kept attacking in the same way”, indicated a witness of the fact.
The pit bull was removed from the scene, while the people filed a complaint against Marcelo Ríos, who could face a civil trial in the coming months.
