According to Kel, his father “is being subjected to pressure from my mother and from the legal defense of my brother (…) I have witnessed the conversations and demands of the defense of my brother, Hernán Calderón. First they tried to manipulate him emotionally, insisting on the risks my brother ran in jail, “he added.
Raquel Argandoña’s daughter assured that her mother, along with her brother’s defense, told her father that ‘Nano’ could attempt on her life or suffer a sexual assault inside the prison.
“I remember that all this affected him a lot, my dad cried and couldn’t stop crying, he was really worried about my brother’s health, he even hugged me and clasped his hands on my back, he cried with great anguish. However, he understood the need for his son to take responsibility for his actions, “he added.
In his statement before the Prosecutor’s Office, Kel assured that the pressures reached so much that they even offered his father a “communication campaign to clear his name (…) This campaign included interviews with Rebeca admitting that she had lied to save her partner.”

“On Friday, September 4, my mother and the defense go to my father’s apartment and there they threaten or extort him, telling him that they had a second complaint ready that involved another ex of my brother for sexual abuse and that there was no way for her to ‘they turned it around’ because he had already accepted an apartment in Las Condes, “he said.
According to Kel, this triggered his father’s decision to request the crime of frustrated patricide.
“On Saturday, September 5, we talked on the cell phone and he told me that he had decided to change the facts and the legal classification, that he could not resist having his son in prison, and that he had received so much pressure from the defense that he was afraid of things that they can invent and that he does not want to continue exposing me and my sister by being treated as a sexual abuser, “he said.
Finally, the young woman insisted that her father “is suffering a lot, not only for his son, but also for all the communications attacks that have been done to me and that they can continue to do to me.”
“My dad really thinks his son could end up killing him. In fact, he called him from jail and my father made him promise that he would not attempt against my life and that of my sister. My father knows that his son has a problem of violence, but at this point he believes that this will be solved if the complaint and the facts are abandoned ”, he concluded.
