Ransomware, obviously.
Cencosud is one of the largest retail and lenders in Latin America and is currently under attack.
Of Chilean origin, those who are the controllers of Jumbo, Easy, Paris, Johnson and Santa Isabel would have their clients’ data compromised.
From Argentina there are already several media that confirm this information and we, thanks to internal sources, have been able to corroborate the veracity of the above, being able to also measure the scope of what happened.
The affected countries would be Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Peru and Brazil, but we insist that they are only assumptions.
Strictly speaking, Cencosud is a victim of ransomware, where the attackers seize the information and ask for X amount of money in return so as not to disclose it.
If it had the scope that our sources have given us, it would be one of the most serious computer problems in recent years.
For now, to wait for official communication.
