The Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaidó assured that he will maintain his functions as president in charge of the Caribbean nation, a position in which he is recognized by fifty countries before the presumed usurpation of the presidency by the ruler Nicolás Maduro.

But nevertheless, after the call to boycott the parliamentary elections this Sunday, Guaidó will lose his status as head of the legislative branch as of next January 5, when they are installed the elected deputies this day.
In this sense, the opponent, which rejects the elections and qualifies them as fraudulent, advanced that will be welcomed at the beginning “constitutional continuity” to stay at the head of the Legislative Power.
“The legitimate National Assembly (AN, Parliament), I, like chairman in charge, we will continue here together, with you, assuming not only the principle of continuity constitutesthere responsibility of Parliament Y defending the legitimate mission entrusted to us by the people of Venezuela“, he claimed.
A CALL TO THE POPULAR CONSULTATION
Guaidó expressed in his message that, more than paying for the solution of the pressing crisis that the country is going through, the event will raise the differences between Chavismo and the opposition.
“They will not succeed in lifting any of the pressure measurements“said the opposition leader in reference to international sanctions against Maduro government officials and against various state companies.
“They will not be able to alleviate the crisis until there is democracy for it. The crisis, sadly, is only going to deepen“he continued.
Likewise, Guaidó reiterated his call to participate in a popular consultation, a tool that he proposed in response to women parliamentarians, which will be held between December 7 and 12.
